How To Play Mahjong

Players find matching “open” tiles to remove them. A tile is “open” if it is not covered and at least one long side is free from touching another tile. To remove tiles, tap the tile you would like to match and then tap the matching tile. If the match is successful, both tiles will disappear. The game ends when all the tiles are gone, or there are no more available moves.


A player can match any specialty tile, like flowers or seasons, with any other similarly themed specialty tile: flower to flower or season to season. The shuffle button rearranges the tiles. The undo button reverses a previous move. A player may restart the game by hitting the Restart Game button, or they may start a new game by hitting the New Game button. The button at the bottom of the screen indicates the available matches; when there are no more matches available, it turns red to alert the player to shuffle the board. The settings button goes back to the main menu, where the player can select a new layout or difficulty level.
